Sunderland's Uruguay international defender Sebastian Coates has joined Sporting Lisbon on loan for the rest of the season with a five million euro ($5.4m) option to buy, the Portuguese club confirmed. The 25-year-old headed for Portugal following Sunderland's signing of Ivory Coast international Lamine Kone and could make his debut for the Portuguese league leaders against Academica at the weekend.
