Ramos had been courted by Manchester United during a standoff in negotiations between his representatives and Madrid president Florentino Perez over the Spanish international's salary with his previous deal set to expire in 2017.

Swedish international defender Oscar Wendt has extended his contract with Borussia Moenchengladbach until 2018, the Bundesliga club announced on Monday.

Portuguese giants Benfica are demanding €7.5 million ($8.3m) compensation from former coach Jorge Jesus who joined bitter rivals Sporting Lisbon last June, a club official told Portguese daily Expresso on Monday.
